They could consider why certain shoes may have particular patterns. Children could bring to school a pair of shoes from home that show interesting patterns. They can draw the patterns and/or make up patterns of their own. Sheet 1 of the resource shows black and white pairs of trainers. These can be photocopied for children to colour or paint.
